Some FREE Bagels...
Right now both Einstein Bros. Bagels and Bruegger's Bagels have deals where if you "like them" on facebook, you will get coupons for free bagels.
Click the links above and then log into your facebook account. Once you are on their homepage, click the "like" button at the top of each page and follow the instructions. I believe that both offers send you a coupon via email.
Go here to find your closest Einstein location and here to find your closest Bruegger's location.
(Thanks for the heads up Audrey!)

What happens with a BOGO sale is that you pay for one and the other one is on the store. When you pair a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale, the manufacturer will reimburse the store for the first one and the store "pays" for the second one. I have successfully used BOGO coupons with BOGO sales and gotten both items free and I have also been rejected when trying to do this. Just wanted to give you a heads up so if you want to try, you know you may be rejected!

Newspaper Subscription...
If you currently do not have a subscription to the newspaper, I highly encourage you to answer your door if there is a knock at it this time of year. Lots of young adults are out trying to make some extra money selling newspaper subscriptions.
I just renewed by Sunday subscription to the newspaper with a young man who asked if I would be interested in helping him raise money for his college education. I told him to tell me more, what I was really looking for was the price. I ended up getting 20 weeks of the Denver Post, Sunday only for $21.90, which works out to only $1.10/week - $.40 cheaper than buying a paper at the store each week and I don't have to remember to make a trip to buy it every Sunday.
My subscription also came with a gift from the Denver Post of 2 tickets for an upcoming Rockies game. The seats aren't great, but they were FREE!! I was really happy I didn't renew my subscription last week when I called them about it.

Walgreens Weekly Deals 5/2 - 5/8
I have been super busy around here and haven't had time to compile the Walgreens weekly deals and am not sure I'll get around to it soon as I am going to the dentist today to get some fun dental work done!
You can go here to see a long list of Walgreens deals for the week. Just know that this blog is not local so we may not have gotten some of the coupons and prices may be a little bit different.
I'll be back in the swing of things and do the Walgreens list again next week - thanks for understanding!

My goal for May...
I was so excited about exceeding my goal for April that I thought I should challenge myself again and came up with a new goal for May. My new goal will encompass not just my grocery budget, but all of my spending that is not an actual scheduled bill.
In May, I will be taking out $275 cash and only using cash on everything that I purchase! The $275 will cover: any groceries, meals out, shopping I do (whether it is Walgreens, any other store or online - if it is online, I will use my credit card, but subtract the amount from my cash), gas; pretty much everything - like I said it is to cover anything and everything that isn't a regularly scheduled bill in our house.
I tend to spend more money when I use my credit card. Even small trips to Target tend to add up, which is why I have been trying to limit the number of times I go there - I can almost always find some great deals! I've done the cash only method before and think that it actually makes me think about spending the money more than I do if I am just swiping a card.
I'll update you throughout the month on my progress and we'll see where I end up at the end of the month.
I think setting goals in life is super important, whether they are financially related or any other goals.
Do you have any goals for May? If you are comfortable, share them with us - whether they are thrifty related or not!
It's the beginning of the month...
which means that lots of new coupons are available on all of the coupon sites. In the orange widget on the left side bar of this page, the ones I'm most excited about are:
$1/2 Starbucks Ice Cream (YUMMY!)
$2/1 Dove Deodorant
$.55/1 Cheerios, $2/2 Right Guard Deodorants
$.50/1 Old Orchard Juice
$1/2 Kelloggs Cereals
$1.50/ Classico Pasta Sauces
$1/1 Garnier Fructis Product
All of these coupons should make for some good deals when a sale comes around to use them with.
I'd suggest printing them soon as the best coupons tend to go quickly.
Did you find any great new printable coupons since they reset of them at the beginning of the month?
