Free day at the DMNS tomorrow!

Sunday is a free day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. No coupon needed, just your walking shoes! IMAX, the planetarium and the Body Worlds exhibit are not included in the free day, but if you are into the human body, I highly recommend paying to see Body Worlds - it is simply AMAZING! I went last time it was here and also went this past week with a field trip and was in awe both times.

They are open from 9 am - 5 pm!

Tomorrow's coupons...

It looks like we are getting 2 inserts tomorrow - a Smart Source and a Red Plum. Rumor has it that there may be a $2/1 Smart Balance milk coupon in it and if so, you should be able to score some cheap or FREE milk with the Smart Balance 50% off sale at King Soopers that runs through Tuesday.

Mountain High Yogurt for FREE!

I posted about this in the weekly King Soopers deals but wanted to point it out in its own post. Mountain High Yogurt, the 6 oz. cups, are on sale 2/$1 right now. There is a $.50/2 coupon in the 4/11 RP, which makes these FREE! The best part of this deal is that the sale price runs through May 25th - so you have time to get some more coupons if you want to stock up!

See my post here about how to get more coupons if you don't have enough.

Baby legwarmers and tights 40% off!

Inspired by Finn (a great little store) has all in-stock baby leg warmers and tights on sale for 40% off when you use code AprilSale when checking out. This coupon code will work for sale items too!

Go here for the selection of baby leg warmers.

Go here for the selection of tights.

Go here for the selection of footless tights.

I love leg warmers for little ones just learning to crawl or walk to protect their little legs from owies. I also love them for the summer time to just throw on with a shirt or onesie to make for fast diaper changes.

Safeway has a couple of promotions going on this week. There is a P & G promotion of buy $25 worth of participating products, get a $10 off coupon and also a buy 5, save $5 breakfast promotion.

P & G Promotion - This promotion has some weird small print associated with it..so here's the exact fine print from the ad... "Valid 4/14/10 -4/20/10 with Club Card. Limit one per transaction. Coupon valid on your next shopping trip. Purchases exclude Safeway Store Coupons, Club Card Loaded Coupons, Manufacturer coupons and e-coupons, Sales tax and online purchases, Not all participating products are Future Friendly, look for labeled P&G products."

I'm not sure whether this means your total has to be above $25 after coupons or if purchases made with coupons won't qualify toward the $25 total. I'm kinda at a loss, so I'm not going to put up coupon matchups for this deal, just list the advertised prices on some items - there are many other participating items as well...

Weekly grocery store matchups are coming...

I didn't get my weekly grocery store ad inserts in the mail yesterday so it put me a day or two behind on getting the weekly ad matchups done. I should have them up in the next day or so - stay tuned!

Update on my April goal

I just wanted to give a quick update on my April grocery goal of only spending $100 on food. So far, I've spent $38.07 - which included $10 worth of juice for a family get together for Easter. If I keep this up, I should be able to stay under my goal, no problem!

How are you doing at keeping your goal for the month?

Buy one, get one FREE Jamba Juice!

Two Cheap or Free Benadryl Itch Relief Sticks!

This past Sunday (4/11) in the Redplum insert there was a coupon for $5/2 of any of the following products: Zyrtec, Benadryl, Visine, Sudafed PE, or Tylenol Sinus.

Target and Walmart have Benadryl Itch Relief Sticks regularly priced around $2.50 each making two of them cheap or free after this coupon! These work great for those bug bites you just can't stop scratching - and if you are a bug bite magnet like me, you know how itchy they can be!

(Thanks, Money Saving Mom!)

Easter clearance find that turned into a project!

So I'm really not a very crafty kind of person but I was at Target this last weekend and to my surprise they still had some Easter stuff on clearance for 90% off. I found these super cute wicker Easter baskets for only $.99 each!

Since we didn't need anymore actual Easter baskets, I decided to try and make some storage baskets out of them for around the house. You know, for things like magazines, stuff on top of my daughters dresser and other miscellaneous things that need a home around our house.

I had my husband use some clippers and we removed the handle and viola - a super cute storage basket. These baskets were super cheap compared to similar storage baskets (some sell for $10 - $20 a piece!).

At some point down the line I may decide to paint these baskets so that they match our house better and might even make some new cloth liners for the ones for my daughters room from material left over from the quilt my mom and grandma made for her

Sometimes you just need to think outside of the box to come up with things to do with great deals you come across.

Not only did we score these great baskets, but we also found packs of 15 plastic Easter eggs for $.07 each and the egg dye kits that come with the cups for $.14 a piece!

Have you scored any great Easter or other clearance deals recently?

Cheap Natural Cleaner...

Alice.com has Mountain Green All Purpose Cleaner in the apple scent for $1.89/bottle right now. No coupons or codes needed. I love Mountain Green products - they are eco-friendly and all of the products I have used, I have been really happy with. I used their laundry detergent to clean my cloth diapers on a regular basis!

New to Alice.com? Alice.com is a website that your can shop through and they automatically apply any available coupons to your order, no clipping/filing/or searching for the ones you need! They also have free shipping on any order amount on your first order. If you have ordered from them before, you need to have a minimum of 6 items for free shipping.

Did you know...

that companies almost always put a picture on their coupons of their most expensive items?

Their thought is that you will think that coupon is only good for the more expensive products. So make sure to read the print on the coupon, many times it will say "valid on any" or something to that extent. If that is the case, you can use the coupon on any item indicated, not just the more expensive pictured item. Sometimes the coupon will say "valid only on" a specific item and if it says that, then make sure you are purchasing the correct product.

It is one of the marketing "tricks" that advertisers and merchants use on us - don't fall for it anymore!

$1/1 Scotch-Brite Sponge coupon

Scotch-Brite has a $1/1 printable coupon out (link is in the bottom left hand corner). This coupon is a PDF coupon which means you can print it as many times as you would like. It also doesn't expire until June of this year so we have plenty of time to find a sale to pair it with to get some cheap or free sponges.

Just an FYI - PDF coupons are sometimes "iffy" on their validity as most companies now use coupon printing sites to allow only 2 coupons printed per offer. Since this coupon is a direct link on their website, I am comfortable passing this information along. Lots of coupons that are in PDF formats are fraudulent, so just be careful and try to check the validity of coupons if you come across them in this format. Coupon fraud is a serious crime and saving a few dollars just isn't worth breaking the law in my opinion!

(Thanks, AFC!)

Great deal on artist canvas!

Michaels, the craft store, has 16 x 20" 2 packs of artist canvas on sale this week for $5.79. These canvases are already stretched and framed. There is also a 40% off entire canvas purchase coupon here, scroll down to find it. The coupon excludes clearance canvas, but doesn't exclude ones on sale. With this coupon it brings the price down to $3.47 per 2 pack or only $1.74 each - which is a great price on canvas!

I guess I see some painting in the near future at our house!

(Thanks, SD!)
