Sorry for the lack of posts today

I have not been feeling well and is the reason for the lack of posts today. I'm on the mend and hoping to be back to posting as usual tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

Keep an eye out...

in your mailbox for a mailer that looks like this...It is a mailer from JCPenney and is good for $10 off a $10 or more purchase in-store or online February 14-27th. There are a few exclusions, but if you can find something for $10 or close to, you will be getting it free or really cheap!

I don't shop at JCPenney regularly but will be happy to stop in if they want to give me free stuff. Let's hope you get this in the mail too!

Free Deodorant at Safeway!

Rumor has it that Right Guard deodorant is priced at $1 right now, it is an unadvertised special. Use the $2/2 coupon from here to get some free deodorant! It is easiest to search for the coupon by selecting 'personal care' items on the left side of the page. I haven't been in store to verify but it has been reported by several people. Let me know if you find this great deal - free is MY FAVORITE!

(Thanks, HCW!)

Wall Street Journal Couponing Article

Check out this article from the Wall Street Journal about couponing and if they are worth it. I think it has some great points and hopefully will help get us all more motivated to use them more! What do you think about the article?

Don't forget...

that today is the day to get your free 8 x 10" photo collage from Walgreens. Go here for more details. You don't have to pick it up today, you just need to create it and check out online and then you can pick it up whenever you have time.

REI Super Clearance starts today (2/12)!

Rumor has it that the REI annual super clearance is starting tomorrow. If you are in the market for some outdoor gear, now is a good time to check out their selection. You can shop online here or in store. I think that REI is usually pretty expensive, but you can find good deals on their clearance stuff.

Also, did you know that they offer a 100% guarantee? If you become a member, it is a lifetime membership fee of $20, they will replace any item you are not 100% satisfied with. As a member you also get a percentage back on your annual qualifying purchases, usually around 10%! If you are someone who loves the outdoors, then this membership sounds like a great deal between the satisfaction guarantee and member refunds!

If you find any great deals, let us know.

My last shopping trip for King Soopers Mega Event

I wanted to post another picture and show you what you can do once you start couponing and stockpiling. Let's get motivated! Total cost before coupons/store savings = $107.36. Total cost after coupons = $20.22 - that is a savings of $87.17 or 82% of the bill!!

Here's what I got:
2 Dreyer's Ice Cream
4 Mission Tortillas
2 Kraft Cheese
2 Chex Mix
2 Goldfish Crackers
2 Nestle Cookie Dough
3 Green Giant Steamers
2 Quaker Rice Cakes
6 Hormel Chili Master Chili's
4 Quaker Granola Bars
6 cans of Rotel
9 cans of Hunts Diced Tomatoes
1/2 gallon ORGANIC Milk

I literally was paid to buy the Goldfish and Hormel Chili because of overage with the coupons. They don't hand you back money, but the overage can be used to help "pay" for your other items.

You will again notice that I don't have any produce and the only veggies are 3 frozen Green Giant Steamers. I do most of my fresh produce, veggie and meat shopping at Sprouts and because I have previously stocked up on good meat sales, I haven't purchased any meat in the last month!

How are you doing getting started couponing? Let me know if you had any great shopping trips this week!

Restaurant.com Sale

Go to restaurant.com and search restaurants near you. If you find one that you are interested in, use code HEART to get a $25 gift certificate for only $2.50! Their gift certificates are a great value, just make sure to read the fine print for each one as there are usually restrictions on them, like good only on a purchase of x.xx or more. Gift certificates are usually good for one year from issue. Rumor has it they are even including a $15 FTD rewards credit with your purchase!

A couple of tips...

With all of these internet coupons available to print you will go through ink quickly. Set your printer to default to gray scale and it will take less ink when printing them all. I have never had a problem with stores accepting coupons that are not printed in color. Internet coupons have individual bar codes on each one, so you cannot use a copier to make copies of them EVER! Copying coupons is considered coupon fraud and is the reason that more and more stores are not accepting them.

Also, feel free to use paper that has already been printed on one side. Retailers don't care if coupons are printed on the back of scrap paper. Just make sure to put the paper in the correct way so that the coupons print on the blank side of the paper.

Another helpful thing to do is to set up another email address that you can use to sign up for all the great deals available without getting lots of emails to your main account. You can get free email accounts through yahoo, gmail, hotmail and many other service providers.

Free Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt at Whole Foods!

Through this Tuesday Whole Foods has Oikos Greek Yogurt on sale for $1 each. Pair this sale with the $1/1 from the 1/3 SS or printable from the Whole Foods Website here and get some free organic yogurt. This yogurt is thick and creamy and so tasty! I'm not sure how many of the printable yogurt coupons Whole Foods will take in a single transaction. Also, I believe the printable coupon is also available in the Whole Deal newsletter that I posted about here, but of course I cannot find my copy to verify.

Waglreens Weekly Deals - 2/7 - 2/13

Just getting started shopping at Walgreens? See my Walgreens tips post here.

Looks like another pretty good week at Walgreens this week. If you have RRs left from last week, you can roll them on to a few items to get some more good stuff. Looks like the Vitamin Care Lip Care is a monthly RR deal, so if you didn't get in on it last week, you can still get some free chapstick. Go here for more details on it.

Remember, you must have more items than mfr. coupons in your transaction and RRs count as a mfr. coupons, but Walgreens coupons (like in the weekly ad and coupon books) don't count as coupons so you don't need fillers for them.
